The End of Disposable Outerwear: Why We Built Rare Jackets

Most fashion brands push cheap outerwear that wears out fast. They release new styles every few weeks using low-quality materials. We decided to do the opposite.

Rare Jackets sells jackets that are made to last. We operate as an independent online-only store. Every jacket is made to order, We do not hold any inventory.

Why We Started Rare Jackets

Shoppers usually face two bad choices: cheap jackets that fall apart quickly, or very expensive brands that charge mostly for the name.

We created Rare Jackets to offer a better option, Genuine materials and solid construction at reasonable prices. We work as a sole proprietorship and partner with several manufacturers who produce each jacket only after you place an order.

The Rare Archive: A Silhouette for Every Climate

We do not limit ourselves to a single style. Our design team recognizes that different environments require different tools. We have built a comprehensive catalog that covers every aspect of modern life.

  • The Leather Spectrum: Leather is not a monolith. We offer a material for every preference and purpose.
    1. The Materials: We source heavy-duty Cowhide for road protection and buttery Sheepskin for all-day comfort. For those seeking luxury texture, we offer supple Deerskin and exotic Croc-Embossed finishes. We also provide high-grade Faux Leather for customers who prioritize ethical alternatives without sacrificing the premium look.
    2. The Designs: Our archive extends far beyond the traditional biker jacket. We engineer sophisticated Leather Blazers for formal events and full-length Leather Trench Coats for commanding presence. From minimalist Racers to complex Multi-Pocket Utility vests, we have a design for every aesthetic.
  • The Aviator and Shearling Series: These are our warmest garments. Modeled after historic B3 flight jackets, they feature plush faux fur and shearling linings. They provide absolute protection against freezing temperatures while maintaining a rugged aesthetic.
  • The Suede Collection: Suede offers a unique textural depth. It softens the look of a traditional jacket. We select high-grade hides that offer a velvet-like touch without sacrificing durability.
  • Classic Denim: There is no material more American than denim. Our denim jackets use heavy-weight cotton designed to fade and distress naturally. They act as the ultimate layering piece for casual environments.
  • Wool and Trench Coats: Sometimes a situation demands length and sophistication. Our coats provide a tailored drape that fits over a suit. We use dense wool blends to block wind and retain body heat.

How We Keep Prices Fair

You might ask how we sell premium specifications at an accessible price point. The answer lies in our business model.

Traditional retail creates a “luxury tax.” A jacket passes from a factory to a sourcing agent, then to a distributor, and finally to a boutique. Everyone adds a markup. You end up paying for the logistics, not the jacket.

We removed the chain. Rare Jackets operates on a direct-to-consumer model. We design in-house. We manage manufacturing through our network of overseas and local manufactures, This allows us to get exceptional quality in both materials and craftmanship and then we ship directly to your door. This efficiency allows us to strip away the inflated costs. We believe that high-quality outerwear is a right, not a luxury. We price our products so that anyone with any budget whether buying Faux or Cowhide can own a jacket that lasts.

How Our Process Works

When you order a jacket, it does not exist yet. After your order is placed, it goes into production through our network of manufacturing partners. They source the material, cut it to your size, and build the jacket.

Each jacket is inspected before shipping. Standard delivery (including production and shipping) takes 7–14 business days worldwide. Express shipping is available for $40 and usually arrives in 5–9 business days.

If any order is delayed beyond 21 business days, you can request a full refund or priority reshipment.

What to Expect with Leather

Leather is a natural material, so small differences in texture, tone, or grain can happen. These are normal and not defects. We clearly show the exact material on every product page.

The Rare Standard

We do not chase trends. We refine icons. Our design team analyzes the silhouettes that have defined the last century of style. We update the fit for the modern body but keep the construction methods of the past.

Your jacket is the final layer between you and the world. It defines your presence. It protects you from the elements. Do not settle for a temporary solution.

Welcome to Rare Jackets. We invite you to explore our New Arrivals and experience the difference of true craftsmanship.

FAQs

  1. How does Rare Jackets offer premium materials at accessible prices?

We operate on a direct-to-consumer model. Traditional brands mark up their products to pay for distributors, wholesalers, and retail rent. We design and ship everything ourselves. This allows us to invest the savings back into better materials like full-grain leather and industrial hardware. You pay for the jacket quality, not the middleman.

  2. What is the difference between your leather types?

We source specific leathers for different functions.
Lambskin: Soft and lightweight, good for everyday jackets.
Sheepskin: Warm and durable, often used in aviator styles.
Cowhide: Heavy and tough, suitable for rugged use.
Faux Leather: A high-grade synthetic option. Perfect for customers who want the leather look without using animal products.

  3. How do I know which size to order?

Use the Size Guide on the product page. Measure yourself carefully. Since each jacket is made to the size you choose, we do not accept returns for incorrect sizing.

  4. Are Rare Jackets sustainable?

We think the best way to reduce waste is to buy fewer jackets that actually last longer instead of replacing cheap ones every season.

  5. Do you offer jackets for extreme cold weather?

Yes. Our Aviator and Shearling Collection is engineered for freezing temperatures. These jackets feature dense faux fur linings and wind-resistant outer shells. They provide superior warmth compared to standard leather or denim jackets.
