This policy applies to all purchases made at https://www.rarejackets.com and is issued by Rare Jackets. Because every Rare Jackets jacket is individually crafted to order, we have designed this policy to be fair to both our customers and our production process similar to other premium made-to-order outerwear brands.
1. Return Eligibility
We accept returns for the following reasons:
- The item arrived damaged or defective.
- The item received is materially different from what was ordered (wrong style, wrong color).
- The item was not delivered within the maximum 21 business day window.
We do not accept returns for the following:
- Change of mind or buyer’s remorse.
- Size issues where the customer ordered the incorrect size (please consult our Size Guide before ordering).
- Minor natural variations in leather tone, texture, or stitching inherent to handcrafted garments.
- Items that have been worn, washed, altered, or damaged by the customer.
- Items returned without prior authorization.

2. Return Window
Return requests must be submitted within 30 days of the delivery date (the date the carrier marks the package as delivered).
3. How to Request a Return
To initiate a return, contact us at info@rarejackets.com with the following:
- Your order number.
- Reason for return.
- Clear photographs of the item (required for damaged, defective, or incorrect items).
We will respond within 2 business days with a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number and return instructions. Returns sent without an approved RMA will not be accepted.
4. Return Shipping
- For returns due to damage, defect, or our error: Rare Jackets will cover the cost of return shipping and provide a prepaid label.
- For all other approved returns: The customer is responsible for return shipping costs. We recommend using a trackable, insured shipping method. Rare Jackets is not liable for items lost in return transit.
5. Refunds
Once we receive and inspect the returned item, we will notify you of approval or rejection within 3 business days.
Approved refunds will be issued to the original payment method within 7–10 business days of inspection approval. Depending on your bank or payment provider, it may take an additional 3–5 business days to appear in your account.
If your refund is rejected (e.g., item returned in worn or damaged condition), we will notify you with the reason and return the item to you at your expense.
6. Exchanges
We offer exchanges for items that arrive damaged, defective, or incorrect. Once the returned item is received and inspected, a replacement will be dispatched within 14 business days.
We do not offer size exchanges. Please order carefully using our Size Guide.
7. Custom & Personalized Items
Fully custom or personalized jackets (custom sizing, custom design) are non-returnable and non-refundable, except in cases where the item arrives damaged or defective.
8. International Returns
If the fault is ours (item arrived damaged, defective, incorrect, or not delivered within the 21 business day maximum window): Rare Jackets covers 100% of the return shipping cost. We will provide you with a prepaid return shipping label at no charge to you. You will not pay for return shipping, customs duties, or any taxes incurred on the return shipment.
If the return is for any other approved reason: The customer is responsible for return shipping costs and any customs duties or taxes incurred on the return shipment. We recommend using a trackable, insured shipping method. Rare Jackets is not liable for items lost in return transit.
Processing Time: Once we receive and inspect your returned item, we will notify you of approval or rejection within 3 business days. Approved refunds are issued to your original payment method within 7–10 business days.
Customs Delays: We are not responsible for delays caused by customs during the return process, though we will assist where possible.
